The Ideal Series pays homage to the artwork of renowned equine artist Orren Mixer and his famed ideal horse breed paintings. Over the course of Mixers career, seven horse breed associations commissioned him to paint their breeds ideal. These images have cemented Mixers place as one of historys preeminent equine artists.

In celebration of the American Paint Horse Associations 40th birthday in 2002, they commissioned Mixer to paint a new portrait. Titled The Sire, it featured an overo stallion looking over his colorful herd. Today, this painting hangs in the APHA headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.

We are pleased to have the American Paint Horse join the Breyer herd as the second release in The Ideal Series! Enjoyed by both breed enthusiasts & equine art lovers.
